Terms of Service
The short version
- ShortEasy uses AI to make short films from ideas you type. AI can get things wrong, so watch every film before you post it.
- Your first film is free. Plans renew every month until you cancel, and you can cancel any time.
- The films are yours to use, including for business. Don't use ShortEasy for anything illegal, hateful or misleading.
1. Who we are
ShortEasy (shorteasy.app) is run by Find Tutor LLC, a company in the United States ("ShortEasy", "we", "us"). These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy, are the agreement between you and us. By signing in to ShortEasy, you agree to them.
2. Your account
- You sign in with your Google account. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher.
- Keep your Google account safe. You are responsible for what happens in your ShortEasy account.
- One account per person. Don't make extra accounts to get more free films.
3. What ShortEasy makes
You type an idea. ShortEasy researches it and finds a source it can quote. It writes two scripts for you to choose from, or chooses one itself if you ask it to. Then it records a voice and makes the pictures, captions and music for a short vertical video (a "film"). AI models from other companies do this work for us (see the Privacy Policy).
4. AI makes mistakes: check before you post
ShortEasy checks the facts in a script against the source it found. Even so, AI can get facts wrong, misread a source, or make pictures you didn't mean. Watch every film before you publish it. You decide what to publish and you are responsible for it. That includes following the rules of the sites you post on, some of which ask you to label videos made with AI.
5. Your content and your films
- You own your ideas, the words you type and the pictures you upload.
- The films ShortEasy makes for you are yours to use for any purpose, including commercially, and we give you any rights we have in them. AI-made material may not be protected by copyright everywhere, and someone else could get something similar.
- You let us store, copy and process your content only to run ShortEasy for you, to keep it working and to make it better. That includes sending your content to the AI providers that make your film. We don't put your films on our website or in our marketing without asking you first. Choosing Publish in Examples asks us to display a copy of that video with your chosen public title and category in the public gallery and through its share link. You can stop sharing at any time; this does not recall copies viewers have already saved.
- Only upload pictures you have the right to use. Don't upload pictures of real people without their permission, or characters that belong to someone else.
6. What you must not do
Don't use ShortEasy to make or share anything that:
- is illegal, or encourages anyone to break the law;
- is hateful, harassing, threatening or violent, or bullies someone;
- is sexually explicit, or sexualises or harms children in any way;
- deceives people, such as fakes of real people, false news presented as fact, scams or spam;
- breaks anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights.
Also don't try to break into, overload or disrupt ShortEasy, get around its limits or payments, copy, resell or reverse-engineer it, or use it to build a competing product. We may remove content, and suspend or close an account, that breaks these rules.
7. The free film
Each person can make one free film after signing in with a verified Google account. No card is required, nothing is charged and no subscription starts. The trial is reserved for the first project you start; you can return to finish or retry that project. We check accounts, browsers and networks to prevent repeat trials, and limit daily trial availability. Shared connections can occasionally reach these limits; contact support for help. Don't create additional accounts to claim more free films. Deleting a project does not reset the trial.
8. Plans and billing
| Plan | Price | Films |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $20 a month | 10 films a month |
| Creator | $50 a month | 30 films a month |
| Pro | $100 a month | 60 films a month |
- Prices are in US dollars.
- Renewal. A plan starts when you pay and renews automatically every month on the same date. Each time, the plan's price is charged to your card until you cancel.
- What counts as a film. A 30–40 second video uses one film from your allowance. A 60–75 second video uses two. The free trial includes one 30–40 second video. Each episode in a series uses the allowance for its selected length, and the total is shown before you start. The allowance is counted when production starts: when you pick its script, or straight away if ShortEasy picks. Making a video again from new scripts uses its selected allowance again (one or two films); that means rewriting it, researching it again, giving it another source, or switching to its other script. Trying again after a problem, changing a shot, and changing the hook, captions or music don't count.
- Unused films don't carry over. Each month starts with your plan's full number of films.
- Edit credits. Each paid plan includes 20 edit credits for every film in its monthly allowance: 200 for Starter, 600 for Creator and 1,200 for Pro. Changing plans changes the allowance; credits already used in that subscription month still count. Generating or repainting World images and regenerating footage use them; the credit amount and selected images or affected shots are shown before you confirm. Neighbouring shots that share footage may need to be regenerated together. Credits are reserved when you confirm. If the work stops before any paid generation, they are returned. Retrying a regeneration that already used its credits does not use them again. Unused edit credits don't carry over and have no cash value.
- Free edits. World uploads, character and scene descriptions, scene ordering, caption words, hook text, positioning, music, exports and previewing a proposed shot change use no edit credits. These edits remain available when you have no films or edit credits left.
- Fair use. Processing limits protect the service against excessive automated requests. Contact support if normal film creation reaches a processing limit.
- Storage. The free trial includes 1 GB; Starter includes 5 GB, Creator 15 GB and Pro 30 GB (1 GB = 1 billion bytes). Storage covers retained projects, Worlds, series files and saved versions, and does not reset each month. Temporary editor caches do not count. We reserve estimated space before new generation or uploads. If there is not enough room, download and permanently delete projects in Manage storage, or upgrade. Existing files remain available for playback and download, and small edits remain available. Finishing accepted work can temporarily put an account over its limit. Downgrading or cancelling does not automatically delete content. Permanent deletion cannot be undone and does not restore film or edit credits.
- Changing plans. You can move to another plan at any time from "Your plan". Moving up is charged straight away for the rest of the month. Moving down is credited against your next bills.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, Stripe tries again. Until it goes through, you can't start new films.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your full card number.
9. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel at any time: open "Your plan", go to Stripe's billing page and cancel. Your plan keeps working until the end of the month you've paid for, then stops, and you won't be charged again. Your films stay in your studio to watch and download. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy, which is part of these terms. It also explains the right to withdraw for customers in the EU and UK.
10. Changes to ShortEasy, prices and these terms
- ShortEasy is new and we keep improving it, so its features may change.
- If we raise a plan's price, we'll email you at least 30 days before. The new price applies from your next renewal after that, and you can cancel before it does.
- We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you by email or in the studio at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using ShortEasy after that, the new terms apply.
11. Closing your account
You can stop using ShortEasy at any time. To delete your account and your films, email us (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other people at risk, or that the law requires us to close. If we close your account when you haven't broken these terms, we'll refund the unused part of your current month.
12. No guarantees
We work hard to keep ShortEasy running and making good films. Even so, it is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we don't promise that it will always be available or free of errors, or that every film will turn out the way you want.
13. Our liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue, followers, data or goodwill. Our total liability for all claims is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some liability can't be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing in these terms limits it. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights as a consumer, either.
14. Disputes and the law
If something goes wrong, email us first. Most things can be sorted out quickly. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts there.
